QuickBooks Pro/Premier/Enterprise Version Upgrade on Cloud Desktop
Once per year QuickBooks releases a new version, and this requires us to update the software hosted for you on Sentryon Cloud Desktop.
After we have completed updating the QuickBooks software, usually the first time you open a company file it will need to be upgraded as well. We do not keep clients' QuickBooks "Admin" credentials for security and privacy, and therefore we cannot perform the upgrade of the company files. Clients must either perform these steps themselves or contact our help desk team for assistance.
1. Make sure all users are logged out of QuickBooks on their Cloud Desktop account.
2. Open your new version of QuickBooks Desktop.
3. Go to File, then select Open or Restore Company.
4. Select Open a company file, then Next.
5. Locate your company file on the Q: drive, select it, then click Open.
6. Sign into your company file as an Admin user
- The default admin account is "Admin" but other users could be assigned this role as well.
- You will be required to back up the old company file before proceeding, just follow the instructions as normal.
7. Select Update Now.
8. When QuickBooks finished, select Done.
Once complete you can log into your company file normally, select Multi-User Mode if needed, and other users may also log in and use it.
